Look Inside
Learn to work with fibreglass and other composites
Composite materials are made up of two parts: one giving it strength (e.g. glass or carbon fibre) and the other sticking those strong components together (e.g. resin). Fibreglass is one of the most common types of composites, hence a lot of this course focuses on fibreglass. Many of the techniques and used and products made are similar for fibreglass or other composites though – so learn one and you have a head start on understanding others.
This course lays the foundation you need to start working with fibreglass or other composites. You may start out doing this work as a hobby, or you might take this course to upskill and work in industry. The work might be on a small scale such as repairing a fibreglass roofing or wall panel, or fixing a cracked surfboard. On a larger scale, the work could involve building a boat or car body.
Whatever the application, this is a skill that has a very wide application across many industries, and can offer diverse employment and business opportunities.
