Soil Management for Horticulture and Healthy Plants
Soil management is important for understanding the influence of soils on plant growth. Soil health has a direct bearing on plant growth and the physical and chemical properties of soils are what influences growth. Whether in gardens, public landscapes, or nurseries, it is important to be able to test soils and plant tissues to determine how to optimise plant growth.
This course helps students to determine what tests to use, how to amend poor soils, how to rehabilitate degraded soils, the nature of potting mixes, and the best approaches to earthworks operations in horticulture and landscaping. It also provides a solid foundation in soil science.
Soil health is the vital ingredient in success of plants and gardens.
